Shining a light on leadership
Following an extensive application process and review team visit, North Gaston High School has received certification as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School.
The distinction recognizes the school’s concentrated focus on integrating leadership across the school environment and promoting leadership skills and opportunities among students, teachers, and staff.
The highlight of the school year
Graduation is a major milestone. It is a rite of passage for our students as they move on from high school and embark on new opportunities in college, the military, and the workforce.
When our graduating seniors walk across the stage, they are prepared for success and prosperity in life. It’s our ultimate commitment to students.
North Gaston High School
Students in the Leadership Academy at North Gaston High School are building leadership skills through the school’s FFA program. The program gives students hands-on experience in agriculture while teaching responsibility, teamwork and career readiness.

We are proud of our marching band and appreciate what the band brings to our football games on Friday nights. Be sure to take in a game this fall and support the Wildcats.
Providing care for students at school
Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually.

North Gaston High School will host its 9th Grade Wildcat Prowl & Picnic on Wednesday, August 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This special event gives rising freshmen a chance to tour the school, meet staff and classmates, and enjoy a picnic lunch as they prepare for the year ahead.
North Gaston High School will host its Back-to-School Open House on Monday, August 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Students and families are invited to drop in, pick up schedules, meet teachers, and get ready for a great start to the new school year.
Don’t miss the bus, make sure your child is signed up for transportation! Bus routes will be finalized and available at Open House.

The Gaston County Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday, July 20 has been canceled. The Board’s next regular meeting will be held on August 17 with committee meetings scheduled for August 3.
